Hampton Bays NY Yellow Pages

Hampton Bays is a hamlet on the South Shore of Long Island in the town of Southampton commonly referred to as "The boat ways of the Hamptons". This hamlet is the only one in the area that has access to all the waterways which include the Great Peconic Bay by way of Shinnecock Canal, Tiana Bays, Shinnecock Bays, and the Atlantic Ocean. In 1740, the area was settled as Good Ground and was the main hamlet in the area. In the early 20th century the name was changed to Hampton Bays.

Hampton Bays Union Free School District serves the area with two schools which are the Hampton Bays Elementary School for students in kindergarten through 6th grades and Hampton Bays Secondary School for students in 7th through 12th grades. The businesses thrive in Hampton Bay offering residents all the comforts they need including one of the largest night clubs on Long Island.

Hampton Bays is a very family oriented offering all kinds of activities that just happen to be the main attractions in the area. Annual events such as the Chili/Chowder Contest bring visitors from around the state.
